Federación de Concesionarios de Forestación y/o Reforestación de Madre de Dios (FEFOREMAD)

The Federation is BAM’s partner in the REDD Project in Small Forestry Concessions in Madre de Dios. The Federation was founded in November 2007 with the purpose of developing and implementing association-wide activities benefitting the sector, in strict accordance with the Peruvian law. The Federation’s mission is then to develop, promote, research and implement trading programs in forest activities. It also offers services to support the improvement of FEFOREMAD concessionaries’ production. FEFOREMAD is the result of a merger of eight associations currently comprising two hundred concessionaries in the Madre de Dios region (Peru). The average size of this type of concession is 500 hectares.

   

Federación de Productores de Castaña de Madre de Dios (FEPROCAMD)

logo feprocamdeThe Federation is BAM’s partner in the REDD Project in Brazil nut concessions in Madre de Dios which has the goal to protect the forest of these Brazil nut concessions, especially from migrant agriculture and illegal logging. FEPROCAMD was founded in 2009 and comprises 11 associations or 400 out of a total of 1,000 Brazil nut concessionaires in Madre de Dios. The Federation’s main objective is to improve the conditions of the sector and all its concessionaires.

Conservación Ambiental y Desarrollo en el Perú (CAMDE PERU)

altThe NPO CAMDE Peru is BAM’s second partner in the REDD Project in Brazil nut concessions in Madre de Dios. CAMDE Peru was a key player in establishing the joint venture and strategic partnership between BAM and FEPROCAMD. CAMDE Peru is in charge of the delimitation of the Brazil nut concessions and advising the individual Brazil nut concessionaires in the preparation of their management plans and annual operations plans.

CAMDE PERU was founded in 2008 and operates in the Madre de Dios and Cusco regions. It is formed by technical experts and local professionals specialized in environmental and natural resources. CAMDE seeks to facilitate development strategies, encourage the development of environmental services, to facilitate development strategies, and to design and promote sustainable natural resource management practices.
